Did Ya Miss Me!?

Deina

I know I know...

You are probably wondering what ever happened to me, but do not worry. I've actually been busy with real life and odds and ends. Trying to get my final project done for Studio Vis, so I won't bore you with the details of my absence, but I guess there isn't much else for me to do now is there? ;)

Anyhow, let's get down to business shall we? I finally was able to get my Necromancer to 50 this past weekend, go me. Got my Epic armor the next day and here I am already fiddling around with another character, ready to go to the BG's and wreck havoc under another name and class. Nothing can ever beat the treadmill for higher learning can it? Though, I must admit, there has always been the nostalgia (sp?) of taking a character and honing them to what you think would suit your needs and the needs of others. I'll admit, the Necromancer wasn't the best choice for RvR since their LOS, certain spells and stats don't really work all that great, but they are beautiful for farming cash and the like. That's all their about good for...

I'm hoping to see some more love for these little shady cloaked miscreants of Albion. They have a lot to offer in both PvE and RvR, but in the past couple of weeks, I've been catching wind here and there of people already wanting the NERF bat for these guys.

Goes into RANT Mode

Ok, so you're in DF and you are hunting seals even when you don't have it, and all of a sudden a Necromancer catches you and one other off guard. After a few rounds of trying to gain advantage both you and your party member dies from their hands. The next day, you go on to some boards and you scream at the top of your lungs that Mythic should NERF the Necromancer class. Why? Why should they NERF them? You basically sum up the battle that you and your party member had with that Necro, but you never officially gave a log or data to back up the reasons as to why they should be NERFED. But you feel that your explanation is more than well deserved of a response to your plight and many should agree with you on this. Lemme try and remain calm about this and rationalize the one thing you guys are failing to see here.

1) You and your party member were out hunting in DF hunting for seals. Doesn't matter what class you are for you failed to mention that information in your post.
2) You state the obvious that the Necro caught you off guard and killed you both.
3) Then the next day, you come on some boards and whine and complain about how one class is overpowered and you want them to be NERFED.

When you talk about a battle, but give no info about what races, classes or even data for that matter about your encounters with the enemy, you are only held in speculation. As far as I'm concerned, it's just squabble compared to other things that I have seen when you can't back up your battles with logs and actual data. You have to prove to me that they were THAT over powered to ream you but good. Just saying that you were someplace and someone (Necro or not) caught you off guard killed you doesn't say much. Heck, a Cleric can catch you off guard and kill you! Just think for a moment people, wizen up to the fact that what we need is more factual information than whining and moaning about how someone is overpowered when you have no proof. Sure, it's a good outlet, but at least make it worth the readers time.

RANT Mode Off

This goes for anyone that goes to any board to talk about something that they believe needs to be looked into. Doesn't matter what you are talking about, since the rules of common sense must be applied to all things when you are writing or talking, or even thinking. If you remember back in high school how you had to write all of those essays about something, apply that knowledge there and now. If you remember anything about essay writing, it was that when you wrote about something you had to have valid proof as to why it was that way or why you objected or approved. It's really important to remember that, you just don't know.

I wasn't mainly sticking my neck and hands out for this class, but merely making a statement about blind posts when they can't even see or fail to see something. Read the TL reports if you aren't aware of the issues. Go play that class if you don't know what someone is talking about and see for yourself. Actually learn from others when they speak the truth and give the data on a particular issue before you strike when your iron is actually cold. These are basically learning tools and you have to use them in order to learn correctly.

Tell me how you feel about blind posting and Whiners on Boards and what you do to stop this: editor@Warcry.com
