New Patch Pickin'
Gah! I'm slacking this week. College finals are up and I'm not spending one bit of my time studying! What an example I'm showing! Oh well, not that it really matters to you the reader that the influx of madness has hit the fan this week. And to that I mean the new patch.
I haven't told anyone this, but I sort of settled my roots now in Hibernia and am living the high life. It's quite the opposite of what people have told me and I like it very much. Yeah, that meant I sacrificed everything I had in Albion to be with the Tree Huggers, but that's not all. Since I'm on one of the servers that have the 'under populated' /level 30 attribute to it, the influx of player numbers has just outdone itself this time. I don't mind the new numbers and all, heck it's great and wonderful for the realm! However, I have to wonder what the real motivation on this is. And to that, I ask you the readers about it. What do you think about the influx of under populated servers and the /level 30 attribute?
To me, there is a pro and con to this. The pro is that it brings more people from other servers to the realm. More so to the realms and servers that has under population problems to help balance it out. But does it really do this? Does it really help balance out the whole server when a server/realm has this special attention? The consequence I see with this is that it causes a mad run to the hills! People asking or begging for gold and decent armor, a lot of new players from places unknown going out and blindly exploring the country side and not realizing where they are going. I have personally seen many graves riddling the land to this affect. It also causes looking for groups and hunting an issue from time to time as well. Because you're doing your best to level that legit toon only to find that some free level toon is out there taking all the space. Don't get me wrong, they have every right to be there and they are enjoying it! But I would've liked to see the /level 30 attribute be cut from the whole thing and brought down to 20 after the first day the patch went live. And I say this because it's just madness in my eyes. Many have complained about it and are tired of seeing the new slue of free toons roaming about. Guess hard work does sort of pay off when you know how things go. But then again, it was earned by those that have level 50 toons. So, I won't say much on that. ;)
As far as the whole patch is concerned, I'm sure there are some LA toons out there that are just peeved and stormed about it. But just remember that nothing is ever permanent in the realm of possibilities. Things will always change either for good or bad, but sometimes, they are needed.
