ToA - Trials of Attention Span!
I finally got my copy yesterday when it came out. Almost didn't get it but my little string of luck has been working overtime it seems.
In this article, we'll be taking an overview of some things in Trials of Atlantis. Things that I think that may be important for those that just got their copies or don't know where to begin. After you install the game, you will notice a major definition in the way the game looks, feels and plays. More customizable attributes with the interface, able to set different standards for performance on your game play and also many other features that I can't name alone. But what I want to focus on here are the Trials themselves...
I have been wandering around the Realm of Atlantis and got a good feel for the layout and the aggression of the land towards us. But top side is just one side of the world that we know about; it's the world under the water that we must be wary of.
When you first enter the Ruins of Atlantis, you will notice that it's basic and the layout is easy to grab a hold of. If you would like to begin your trials, you will need to talk with a fellow named Arbeiter in the Hall of Heroes. I'm not sure if this is true for Midgard or Hibernia, but there will be one NPC standing next to the portal that will give you your first list of trials to complete. In the stats sheet of your Interface, you will notice something new. There is a Master Button that allows you to look at the trials that you have currently or have completed. I would suggest that you check this often. Now, I know this come as a bit of a problem, but there are hardly any maps for us to follow. But that's the beauty of exploration. In the Master list, you will notice that sometimes the information given to you is a little vague, but ask around to see if anyone else has been able to find the answer to the puzzles. Team work and communication is a key factor with these Trials...
Well, until you have to do them...
When you do start your trials, you will notice that sometimes you may have to do it over and over again due to a misunderstanding between you and the creature you are being tested by. Group efforts aren't allowed in these trials and are only able to be completed individually, henceforth the name trials. They are there for you to complete by yourself and gain access to your abilities later on. Since there has been a flood of people trying to get through their trials, people cutting in line, ruining other people's trials, it would be wise to make a chat group available for all to join. You can make the chat list act as a line for who is next to do their trials. However you only have to do this if there are problems with order and such.
The more order and communication you have with the people that are trying to do the same trials, the better chance you will be able to get everyone where they need to be in order to make it go quicker. Everyone in that area must be on the same page for the trials to be successful for everyone. And trust me, the rewards you reap are well worth the cooperation.
I will have more later on about the functionality, success rate and anything else that I can think of that may help you in your first steps of Atlantis. If you have anything that you would like to share, you can send them to editor@Warcry.com or you can post them on the General Discussion boards!
Until then, let the Trials begin!
