Should a warrior feel the desire to follow the calling of the Church of Albion, he gathers up his honor and learns unique abilities to protect and enhance his party's skills. This isn't a warrior with healing, a Paladin posesses unique skills all his own, as well as learning the powerful two handed weapons upon accepting their calling.
When alone, a Paladin fares much like any other of the Fighter classes, with the exception being the very rare Avalonian Paladins, who tend to be more physically weak than their more common counterparts. While one would think a Paladin could heal themselves after battle, their abilities only seem to work while the fury of combat is upon them, though constant regeneration during battle is a useful trade.
Much like Minstrels, the Paladin shines in a group. Their different Crusader abilities function primarily while in battle, and especially help the warriors beside them. If that wasn't enough, once a Paladin has proven himself, the Church will grant him one of their most desired abilities - that of raising a fallen comrade on the field of battle.
