What good is sending a raiding party without one along to sing the heroism of the raiders and the dirges of the fallen? When a young viking feels the call of Bragi, he joins the ranks of the warrior-poet Skalds, and gains the power to inspire courage in his comrades, and fear in his enemies.
Unlike his other bardic brethren of other realms, the Skald is always a warrior at heart, and as such fares better alone than one would expect from a poet. Though he doesn't gain the ability to wear the heaviest armors until his other training is complete, a Skald should have few problems other than those normal for warriors.
With their much coveted traveling song, a Skald can make the leagues fly without notice under his companions' feet, making him possibly the most desired groupmate in Midgard. With the addition of his melee skills, as well as his other inspirational songs, a Skald can augment a group's ability immensely.
