Favorites of Thor the Thunderer, the Thane is granted limited abilities with the weather to go with their prowess as warriors. Calling forth the power of lightning, Thanes can use it to increase their own strength as well as casting forth bolts to strike down thir foes. If this wasn't power enough, Thanes are also fully trained warriors, as competent as any others.
Alone, Thanes enjoy a slight advantage over other warriors in that they can easily attack from long distances, as well as being able to augment their own abilities. Being able to fling lightning in rapid succession allows a Thane to cause a significant amount of damage before an enemy can even near.
Pulling enemies at a range is one of the greatest abilities of the Thanes. Unlike the other Midgardians with long-range distance attacks, the Thane can not only deal damage with them, he can also handle th attack should the enemy choose to focus on him. The combination of his offensive powers with protection abilities makes a Thane an excellent companion for magic using classes, allowing them to hit hard enough to turn attention to themselves.
