The Status Box
Take a good look at the image to the right, you'll become very familiar with it as you play DAoC. As you might suspect from the title of this page, this box (normally located in the lower-right corner) contains the important status information about your character, including the amount of health, power, and endurance you currently have, and your current experience progress.| Hit | Your hit points are shown as a red bar - when this bar is empty, you die. OK, your character dies, not you. |
| End | The green bar shows your current endurance, if this is empty, you cannot do combat styles or sprint. |
| Pow | The yellow bar is showing your current power, often referred to as 'mana' - if you're out, you cannot cast spells. |
| Exp | The blue bar and bubbles shows your experience progress - more on that next. |
The experience bar is designed to show continual progress, being separated into two sections, the bar and the bubbles. Each bubble consists of 10% of your experience to the next level, and the bar shows the current progress to fill up the next empty bubble. By measuring the progress of the bar against the bubbles, you can determine your current progress to parts of 1%. Noting my current status, you can see that I was just under 10% of the experience to get to my next level when this snapshot was taken.
In addition, this bar will also contain the name, 'consider' rating, and current health of any targets, NPC or player, which you can see in the image as having myself targeted. You will always target as level 1 to yourself, other targets will display as appropriate.
This status box will also show the 'consider' rating of any items and equipment. This is also where any detailed information about a spell or item will appear if you check using the right mouse button.
In addition to the normal color raings you might expect, Mythic has also added textual tags to the different ratings to help the colorblind - especially since purple is often so very similar to blue. Don't make that mistake more than once - check to the right of the targets name in your status box and look for the + and - symbols as well as the color.
