City of Heroes developers, Toyota and GameTrailers.com have announced the Matrix Machinima Contest: Get in Touch with Your Dark Side. The grand prize is, you guessed it, a 2009 Toyota Matrix. Check out the details:
Grab those tights, get a sub-prime mortgage on an evil lair and summon your inner super powered heroes and villains for the Toyota Matrix Machinima Contest. Break out of your secret identity and into your favorite costume in City of Heroes or Villains and Get In Touch With Your Dark Side. No matter if you're a daring do-gooder or a dastardly deceiver - everyone has a dark side, skeletons in the closet, secret fans of the N-gage...Whatever. We're asking you to manifest some mischief in a Machinima piece, where games and movies come together, and win some great prizes while you're at it. So when it comes to trick or treating, lay hard on the tricks, which shouldn't be a problem with super powers. To get a taste of the prankitude we're expecting check out our example video below, made in part by GameTrailers' own resident superhero: Daniel Kayser Man. And remember, with great power comes great responsibility, but with great risk can come greater reward, with prizes like a brand new Toyota Matrix, subscriptions to City of Heroes and Villains, and games, games and more games. So get your minions, sidekicks and henchmen ready, load up on hard drive space and make us a Machinima masterpiece!!!
Guidelines:

- Limit 1 entry per person
- You must be 18 years of age and not a minor in your primary state of residence. Alabama (age of majority 19), District of Columbia (age of majority 21), Mississippi (age of majority 21), and Nebraska (age of majority 19)
- Get In Touch With Your Dark Side in a 2 - 4 minute machinima video that is no larger than 200mb in size
- Use either City of Heroes or City of Villains to create your video. Click Here to download a free trial!
- Videos must be newly created by you, and except for City of Heroes and City of Villains, no element of the video can contain copyrighted material
- The Top 5 will be selected by the GT Editorial Team based on originality (25%), concept incorporating "Your Dark Side" (25%), and visual style (50%)
- The winner will be announced September 12, 2008 on Spike's GTTV. Winners will be notified by email so make sure the email address in your account is current
